A Moment of Calm in the School Day
From Monday to Thursday, one fixed element is part of everyday life at CSK: the Quiet Reading Time. Exactly at 1:00 p.m., silence settles over the entire school building. For twenty minutes, until 1:20 p.m., everyone sets aside their daily routines and dives into the world of books. The children are free to choose what they read: they may bring their own books, pick something from the classroom library, or borrow from the school library. This reading time creates a special space for peace and concentration — a valuable moment of stillness amid the lively full-day rhythm of CSK.
Once a week, one class visits the school library during Quiet Reading Time. There, students can discover and borrow new reading material, which makes them look forward to reading even more.
Quiet Reading Time is not only a way to foster reading skills but also a soothing pause in the school day. For both students and teachers, it is a shared moment of reflection — a deep breath — and a small yet meaningful ritual that enriches the school day.
